7/21/2019 - Utah 2018 Released!! The new packages will supersede previous packages and cover the remainder of the US. I have spent the last couple of months pre-downloading and processing imagery so the releases should come out fairly quickly from this point.

Seed the files on BitTorrent. This project will not work if people do not seed the files, simple as that. Seeding simply means that after you download a file, you allow other people to download parts of the file from you. The more people that seed, the faster everyone else will be able to download the files. If we don't get enough people seeding, then unfortunately development will stop. BitTorrent is the only distribution method financially feasible for this project since we are transferring many terabytes of data every month.

BitTorrent allows us all to share the task and expense of distributing the files. When you download the files, you are not downloading from a central server, you are downloading from other generous users. Then other users download from you when you finish (called seeding). If you download the file and then remove it from your BitTorrent client, that's called leeching. Don't be a leech.

Due to the large file sizes, distribution of the files will be via the BitTorrent network. However, you are free to download and redistribute the files via other means with the only restriction being that commercial use is prohibited and you must not remove or modify the readme.txt file from the package. If you want to burn them on a DVD and send them to a friend, that's fine. If you want to sell them on eBay or elsewhere, that's not fine.

Question: Why do I need to convert the files from JPG to DDS? That takes a long time.Answer: If I were to distribute DDS files instead of JPG, the packages would be 3-4 times larger and it would take you 3-4 times longer to download them. Just not practical.

Can't thank you enough for this wonderful project. I really appreciate the time you took to get this working. Amazing documentation too. I downloaded Florida first, to test out the beaches, and how it looks. I loved it so much, that I almost gave up on heavy metal flying, and just went GA for couple of months now. Downloading Denver, and California too.

I downloaded and installed the Great Lakes files for this mod today. I live in southern Michigan (Adrian) near the Ohio border so I thought I would try an area I know very well. The amount of time and effort put into these mods by Forkboy is impressive. It is very well done, and I thank him for his time. I wanted to make that clear before I actually give my opinions. Nothing negative I say is a relfection of his work. Like I said, the mod works and is very well done. Even the instructions are pretty good. I did look up a video on youtube on how to install it though. Just so I could get a better grasp on what I was doing. I think most of what I am going to say probably applies to this type of mod in general, photo reaslistic scenery.

For just the Great Lakes area it was around 30gb of files. I have a fairly new computer. A ryzen 3600 (12 logical cores), 2070 nvidia video card and a 100mb internet connection. It took me an hour to download the torrent, about 20 minutes to unzip and transfer the files and 2 hours to convert all the images. I would warn someone thinking of doing this that means your computer is going to run balls to the wall for 2 hours or more. If your computer doesn't run really stable or has issues with heat I would suggest solving those problems first or this is going to be a nightmare. And you probably won't be playing any games or anything while it doing it. And if you think you are going to do the whole United States you better have a good, decent sized drive to dedicate to it and a LOT of time lol. I was going to add California and Nevada too since I used to live there too and I like flying in that area. Not so sure now after considering the time and hard drive space required. I am guessing that is going to be 3 times the time and space. I might just make do until FS2020 comes out.

Performance wise it didn't effect my FPS at all, it actually went up a little in some areas. I installed it on a fresh version of the X Plane 11 steam version with no mods. I flew the same flight plan with the same plane before and after the mod. I was getting like 50 to 100 fps before and between 60 and 100 after. Plenty considering I lock it at 30 fps when I actually play it. I did notice it has some micro stutters that it didn't have before though. I will try to tune them out and if I can't it isn't anything I can't live with. My settings are pretty high though. I know it seems like I am whining, and I don't want to come accross that way. I am just giving my honest opinion. The truth is this is FREE for crying out loud! It looks and works better than some stuff I paid good money for in FSX, and was easier to install. If you have the time and hard drive space it is worth at least trying out one area to see if you like it.

Excellent ortho. I had my own at Z16 with some at 18, and replaced it with this. Better framerate and color match, well worth the time to download and setup! I also use HD MeshV4 and it looks phenomenal. I actually ordered a 5G HD just so I can cover the entire US. Getting around 25-35 FPS in VR, Pimax 5K on normal. i7 7700 4.8 ghz, 1080 ti O/C with afterburner, 32 G ram.

Absolutely terrific job. After trying one file out I bought a 4TB hard drive and have downloaded all the scenery (but am still rendering all of them) and have my torrent client hosting the files on a backup computer 24/7 to pay back the community. Thanks so much!

Great project. Looking forward to the color corrected versions, I see a lot of "pink" where there should be blacks or grays (use mainly mid-West). I've torrent downloaded 26Gb and seeded over 900Gb back to community and will keep doing it!

This course will cover the basic knowledge required for a private pilot student to prepare for flight training and help prepare for the Private Pilot Airplane written exam. You should still plane to complete our Premium Private Pilot Ground School course prior to beginning your actual flight training and taking the FAA Private Pilot Test.

Some Apple TV channels might have limits for how many titles can be downloaded simultaneously and the number of devices you can download content on. If you reach the limit, the Apple TV app alerts you. If you want to download more titles, delete TV episodes or movies that you already downloaded from one of your (or your family's) devices.

Free Solo, the stress-inducing documentary that followed rock climber Alex Honnold as he scaled the 3,000-foot-tall El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without a rope, isn't on Netflix. (You'll have to go to Disney+ to watch it.) But The Dawn Wall is, and it'll give you a similar sense of adventure from the comfort of your couch or airplane seat. It follows Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson, the first climbers to attempt a free ascent of a section of El Capitan known as, you guessed it, the Dawn Wall. While they don't use equipment to aid their climbs, unlike Honnold they do use a harness and rope as a safety net.

It couldn't be a list of travel movies without at least one appearance from Sir David Attenborough. And this one isn't the usual fare, turning the lens on the celebrated naturalist and beloved narrator himself. Over the course of the documentary, Attenborough reflects on his more than 90 years on earth so far, and his hopes for the protection of our planet and its residents big and small in the future. If you love the movie, be sure to check out his memoir by the same name, which delves deeper into the movie's message.
