Share your story.

Every yogi has a story on how they first connected with yoga and their journey into the practice.

Some experiences are awe-inspiring, others are difficult and painful. Some yogis experience spiritual bliss, while others enjoy it for its physical workout. For some, the yoga practice is a refuge, a safe space in an otherwise out-of-control world. For others, the yoga studio has left them struggling with their sense of belonging.

What was your experience like? We want to share your story.

If you identify as a Black person, Indigenous person or Person of Colour, we'd love to hear about your yoga journey. Whether you live in Ottawa or elsewhere; share your yoga experiences in the form below.

All yogis have the choice of being photographed or not, so let us know if you would like to model for this project.   Yogis who would like to be photographed will take part in a free 30-minute photo session and receive one (1) photo for their own use. Photos created for the BIPOC Yogis of Ottawa website will not be used elsewhere without prior consent, and all yogis are required to sign a model release form before the photo session.
